Journeys to new places can be stressful, especially if they're for an important purpose. What new products or services can you invent to remove this stress? How could you take the strain out of planning and executing journeys to an interview, a new meeting location, a new commute or a new school run?

could it be useful if you typed in your destination and it could tell you closest food, sleep toilet areas. i know when i get off long journey flight or to a new destination one of the first things we want as a family is a meal. or looking for a stop off to stay even. closest loo point hehe. just the very basic must have knowledge so your not so lost at sea when you get off the ferry in france and think "im scared" lol

There are a lot of apps that help you to find places such as pubs, cash machines etc. But what about an app that you could set with all your preferences/favourites of all the places/services you like to access in a new location. Mine would have pub, record shop, ATM, mcdonalds, taxi point, Tesco Local (or similar) and essential need to knows such as A&E Department.

When I am travelling I tend to always check,Google maps for directions and BBC weather. It would be great if Google maps gave detailed weather information for your journey timings and locations. This would be very helpful for travel changes and connections where you have to walk to the next point in the journey. It would help you to know what you needed to wear e.g. cool, warm or waterproof clothing and if you needed an umbrella. This would be particularly useful when going somewhere...

weve found that many a nice place is found when we go out for a meal at a good ol local public house:D this isnt a new app idea im putting i know but it got me thinking... this is perhaps becasue often the pubs were back in the day the hub of a village, many lovely qaunt places unike many a drunken place they can be now. so finding unknown places for us has been in searching for a place to have a good sunday lunch. they often take you into the countryside.

My family and I have very occasionally done this thing where you just have a vague idea of the general direction in which you are aiming, for example, we live on the border of East London and Essex.  So on a nice day we will sometimes just drive into the village areas of Essex, and just see where we end up. We've come across some very interesting attractions doing this (usually on the touristy brown signs) and often they are things we have never heard of.  The drive in itself is great on a...

This idea came to me from kateandme's 'lone scared company fellow traveller app' Idea. There seemed to be some concerns about safety and security with an app. I think there' s still a lot of potential in the idea but here's a different slant. i remember in New York one time I visited a vegetarian restaurant on the East Side called Abigail's Kitchen. Dunno if it is still there. In the restaurant was a long, communal table. Anyone on their own who fancied a meal out could sit at the table...

i no weve had this threaded throughout the challegne. but i was thinking of an app that could link people who are going somewhere/arriving somewhere alone. maybe you get to a unknown location and there is someone else in the same pub or cafe who could sit and lunch. or your on a  train and someone else is.bus etc.someone to sit with. i know there is the issue of security and safety but this is just the flesh of an idea im sure the people that are in the know would be able to work it...

I can't say I find new destinations stressful. I think now we have sat navs it has made finding new places so much easier. i often comment of how stressed we used to get trying to find specific places using just maps and instructions printed from the interent.

maps that help us find our way around on an app and a street view, info about shops and hospitals and landmarks to look out for and what buses are straightforward. for instance i had to go to the princess royal at farnborough, i had no knowledge of the area and google maps helped me to orientate myself the day before when i was able to access a pc and see what the stops looked like and landmark buildings so i could measure how far away i was.  unfortunately nothing prepared me for...
