of course feeling safe with those your with but also given how things have happened over the years at airports and train stations.do we feel safe? i think i deff feel better when there is a policemen about or security guards at the airport look vigulant. so many times ive seen them and thought "you have no idea" when theyve missed something that clearly could (if the person chose) have been a disaster situation. and being lost on the tube before to be able to go to someone went towards...

I have to be in control when travelling, it drives me mad not knowing. I had a long flight delay, no-one would tell us why or when it would be resolved which meant I couldn't make any further plans or rearrange meetings at my destination.   Drives me insane.

I hate being in a position of having no change for the bus or indeed no cash to hand. It really limits your options. That's why I like being able to take control of my travel with my Lothian Transport card. It gives me unlimited travel on buses and trams. I can hop on and off to go where I like and reroute my journey if there are roadworks and traffic jams. It gives me control of my journeys to and from work which can be challenging due to connection delays and commuter traffic. I usually...

As someone who has special needs when it comes to travelling, I prefer to be in control of as much of my trip as possible.  I think it is easier when I book each part of my tavel myself as I can explain my needs directly to he service provider, so less room for things to go wrong.  Although, I have also booked through travel agents before and had both good and bad experiences.

many of my long journeys have been with parents or people who have taken the journeys before. i cant think of many times they havent known which route they could defer to. or just breezed down roads they know. this would come with experience and age i guess. they themselves with their own families when young will have done those journeys over and over. if my dad is told to travel the hour long journey to my grandpas he just knows the way!! i think this is quite brilliant. no maps or...

i always find it a easier journey when i know there is ceritna service stations we can stop at. needing the loo when in a queue with no upcoming services is horrible. or a coffee or mcdonalds of course can be essential knowledge on journeys:)

Having internet access and apps helps me to feel in control. The ability to check travel information, my progress, location, sources of support and being able to identify Plan B, C, D is a great way of retaining that control when there is a potential for or reality that things go wrong on your travels. We talked about the benefit of apps a lot in a previous challenge and it made me realise how much I rely on them when travelling. There have been times when I have not been able to access...

Being in control is absolutely necessary as I hate being a passenger.  I suppose the circumstances that lead to a loss of control is when some roads are closed and I have to divert, likewise with trains where they may miss a few stops including mine.  I suppose what I can do about it is to use my sat nav to remove traffic hotspots and write a letter to the train company to express my anger.

When I am travelling I feel in control when my journey goes to schedule and is on expected time. e.g. train or bus running to schedule. Car, bus or taxi not experiencing any major traffic jams or other hold ups. If I am on time then I feel in control. I am not on time that I feel a loss of control and the stress levels can start to rise. I may start to panic if I need to attend an important meeting or make another travel connection. I could start to feel that I may be letting people down...

There are some people I know that you would not want to be stuck next to on a 10 hour flight! It's nice to be able to choose who you travel with.. Do people prefer to travel on their own or with someone? I don't really like travelling on my own.
